Drawings and Photos

Hello!!

Sorry again for not having a post ready sooner... I've been a little busy lately with school, babysitting, softball, and church stuff (not to mention writing!), so I haven't had a chance to get a post done. But here it is now! :D

Writing one evening with CeCe puppy! <3

Anyway, I've always enjoyed sketching and drawing random little pictures  (although I may not be the best at it), so I thought to share a couple with you I've done:

Wolves are one of my favorite things to draw!

Cardinal!

I also happened to be messing around with my iPod the other day and got a couple of pictures that (surprisingly) came out really clear! Here's a couple of those:

CeCe again! <3

Hope you liked them! I'm planning on sitting down soon and getting a 'real' post written, so don't get bored yet! More later!

Quick Quote of the Day

Hello, all!

Don't have much time to spend on this post, but I wanted to share a little quote with you I heard the other day:

"Circles are infinite, and forever is a long time. So make sure you know where you're going to spend it." -OBB

Where are you going to be spending eternity?

Your random photo of the day! :)

'For God so loved the world that he sent His only begotten son, that whosever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'
John 3:16

Liebster Award!

I was tagged by my friend Jesseca over at Whimsical Writings for the Liebster award! Thanks, Jesseca!

So, technically what you're supposed to do is answer the questions asked by the tagger, and then tag 11 other bloggers with 11 questions for them, but since I'm new to the blogging world and don't particularly know of anybody who hasn't been tagged in this already, I'm just going to ask my questions at the end of this post and anyone who feels like commenting their answers can do so! Have fun and enjoy!

Jesseca's questions:

1. What is your personality type?
Mostly ISFJ with a little bit of ISTJ. (With exceptions. I feel like I'm less 'feeling and sensitive' than they say for ISFJ, but for sure not to the extreme of ISTJ.  I'm not always completely "We have to do this EXACTLY the way it says with NO exceptions", but I am a rule follower.) Honestly I don't particularly feel as if any of the personalities truly describes me exactly. A little bit of different ones pieced together. The I and J are for sure, but the S/N and T/F can be interchanged sometimes with me :)
A few words that I've been told describe me (if it helps any): Stubborn (especially when I was younger), quiet, responsible, understanding, (sometimes) moody. Also on the introvert/extrovert scale, I'm near-ish to the middle but definitely closer to introvert.

2. Do you prefer summer or fall?
Hm... Summer is fun because we get to go swimming, but it does get a little TOO hot. Overall I suppose I'd say fall. (Football season!)

3. City or country?
Country, hands down.

4. Chocolate or Vanilla?
I do prefer vanilla ice cream, but anything else and it's chocolate all the way.

5. Why did you start a blog?
A lot of my online friends (I say a lot, but I only know a few XD) have them and I figured why not give it a try? You never know what God could speak to others through you, and it's a fun place to share lots of different things!

6. What is your favorite thing abut blogging?
Hm... Well, I do love setting up the layout of the blog, and all of the technical behind-the-scenes stuff. Also, seeing people comment on my posts makes me happy. :)

7. Favorite classic movie?
Singin' in the Rain is one of my favorites! Also, 101 Dalmatians. (I think that counts as a classic!)

8. You've just been elected as president (surprise!) What is the first thing you do once in office?
Pray. There'd be so much I want to do I'd be overwhelmed, so what better thing to do than ask God for His guidance?

9. Do you have a reading goal for this year?
Nah. If I find a good book/series, I'll read it. I already did read a really good four book western series earlier in the year. I'm looking for something else to read now.

10. Is there a missionary or a hero from history (other than Jesus!) who has had an impact on your life?
None in particular. I do love reading about the founding fathers, though!

11. What are you most looking forward to this year?
I don't know! There's so many little things (turning 16, helping coach kid's sports, helping out at VBS, possibly getting my driver's license), but nothing super big or exciting at the moment. I think the thing I was looking forward to most already happened! (We went on a trip to Atlanta in March). That was SO much fun!

Okay, now here's my 11 questions for anyone who wants to answer them!

1. What is your personality type?

2. Do you prefer the cake or the icing? (I was always told I was weird for eating the cake and not the icing when I was a kid. Haha.)

3. Favorite movie and/or TV show?

4. What is your favorite genre to read/write?

5. Favorite animal?

6. Ketchup or mustard?

7. Go on a walk or run on a treadmill?

8. If you could pick another time period to live in, what would it be?

9. Would you rather go camping or stay overnight at fancy hotel?

10. Favorite hobby (if you have any)?

11. And finally, use three words to describe yourself.

Hope you enjoyed! Sorry for not posting sooner; life's been busy and I haven't had time to write out a blog post. Hopefully I can get one written and posted soon!

Batter Up! (Will You Swing?)

Imagine this. You're up to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning. The game's tied. There's two outs and the bases are loaded. Everybody's watching. The entire ball game rests on these final few pitches, whether you swing or not; whether you get tagged out or called safe.

Whew, pressure much?

Sometimes I feel that way. I bet most of you have, too. I'll try to explain better.

The ball represents, well, it could be just about anything, but in this case, I'm going to say it's a hard time you're going through. That, again, has many possibilities. A friend or family member could be sick, your family could be going through a tough time, you could have a difficult decision to make. The pitch is coming at you, and you can't stop it. You feel as if life is trying to knock you off your feet, and everyone around you is watching, waiting to see what you will do and how you will react during this time. The pressure is on.

That's where the trail splits. What do you do when you're going through a difficult circumstance? Do you swing at everything, hoping you'll just happen to do the right thing? Do you sit back and watch the pitches fly by, hoping it'll somehow all be fine if you ignore the problem?

Or do you suit up in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11) and ask Him to guide you, to give you peace, to see you through whatever it is you may be going through?
He may not miraculously make the situation disappear or reveal the exact solution, but He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We just have to trust His will and His timing for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1). If we do, then no matter how the final result turns out, it will always be a home run!

37 'No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Romans 8:37-39

Well, this may have been short, and it may or may not have been the best analogy or description, but I felt led to post something along these lines, and since I've been helping coach a softball team this spring, the idea of using that sport as an analogy came to mind while I was thinking of a new post.
Hope you enjoyed and that it spoke to you in some way! Always remember that Jesus loves you!

And here's a little fun joke to end the post!
Q: When was baseball mentioned in the bible?
A: The first verse! It says, 'In the big inning...'

Until next time!

New Blog!

Hey there!

Well, this is my new blog! I'm super excited to finally have a blog, although it may take a little while to figure out how it all works! So forgive me if this post is a mess XD.

I think I will be posting just about anything and everything that comes to mind. Things God is showing me, writing stuff, maybe even just what's going on in my life!

You might be wondering why the title of my blog is Living for the Other Side. It is pretty self-explanatory, but I'll explain anyway. As Christians, we should be living our life here on earth in a way that will make it count once we cross over into the next life. We shouldn't have to look back on our life and wish we had done more to make a difference and tried harder to lead people to Christ. We need to be doing our best to fulfill God's purpose and plan for our lives. Let's live for the other side!
